Discover Geraldton

Another amazing snorkel today! the waters are pristine first thing in the morning. I spotted Sea Urchins, Threadfin Butterfly fish, Convict Surgeon fish, cleaner fish and these little sand dwelling fish that follow you around in the hope that you disturb the sand for a quick feast. Tomorrow I'm bringing bread to see if they will eat it.

I also went to the museum which has some great displays about the Batavia and HMAS Sydney which were shipwrecked off the coast. I also bought a coral reef species guide to help me identify the fishies and so I can be particularly well informed about the ocean diversity (smart ass).  I'm in love with the beach and cannot wait to get Ningaloo. All the talk about shipwrecks in Gero has really concreted the idea of doing a dive course, can't wait.

I also visited Dr Foley's Olive tree which is a 150 year olive tree planted by the first Pioneers in Geraldton.
